LYNDON -- Mount Mansfield's Connor Gallagher broke off a 4-yard touchdown run with 38.9 seconds left in the fourth quarter to rally the Cougars to a 27-23 high school football win over Lyndon on Friday.
MMU (2-0) trailed 23:14 with 8:56 left in the fourth quarter.
Will Cobb's 1-yard TD run put Lyndon in front at 8:38 of the first but Nate Dolan threw 68 yards to Mike Shaw for MMU with 8:58 left of the second. Patrick Conley's 28-yard field goal put Lyndon up 10-7 with no time remaining in the half after a Shane MacDougall interception.

The Cougars took a 14-10 lead on Dolan's 6-yard TD run in the third quarter but Jake Garfield fired an 11-yard scoring pass to Logan Macomber late in the period and Ralph Aussiker's 18-yard scoring run with 8:56 left in the fourth had the Vikings (1-1) in front 23-14.
With 7:13 left, Ian Shaw broke off a 57-yard scoring dash for the Cougars, making the score 23-20, and Gallagher crashed into the endzone for the winning touchdown.
Dolan finished 4-for-11 for 117 yards and a TD. Mike Shaw pulled in two receptions for 79 yards and had six carries for 48 yards. Ian Shaw finished with 94 yards on six carries.
Garfield was 5-for-12 for 71 yards and a touchdown for LI. Macomber caught four passes for 81 yards and Aussiker racked up 124 yards on 25 carries.
