BRISTOL -- Jack Dubuque did it all for Mount Mansfield in the Cougars' 53-8 high school football win over Mount Abraham on Saturday.

The co-captain ran for three touchdowns, threw for one, and went 5-for-7 on point-after attempts as he racked up 210 total yards.

"I definitely couldn't have done it without the line; they blocked really well and played a really good game," Dubuque said. "I don't think I've ever done that (run and throw for touchdowns); I think it's a first.

Starting quarterback Greg Pinette got the Cougars on the board less than three minutes into the game when he ran in from 13 yards out with Dubuque getting the point after for a 7-0 lead. Pinette left with an injury later in the first quarter and was out the rest of the game.

The Eagles scored their only points with 1:06 left in the first half as Dean Butler ran in from a yard out. Butler then connected with Alex Huizenga for the two-point conversion and the early 8-7 lead.

Dubuque scored his first touchdown on a 29-yard run and hit the point after for a 14-8 lead at less than two minutes into the second quarter. He struck again with 3:03 remaining on an 8-yard carry to give the Cougars a 20-8 halftime lead.

Midway through the third quarter, Dubuque ran in from 3 yards out. Mike Shaw scored on an 8-yard run to increase MMU's lead to 33-8.

Dubuque threw to Kevin Green from 5 yards for his first passing touchdown at 7:06 of the fourth quarter and the Cougars' Ben Larson then fielded a Mount Abraham punt at midfield and returned it for a touchdown.

"Jack ran, he played quarterback, played corner, broke up a couple of passes," said Cougars' head coach Marty Richards. "Greg went down in the first quarter and someone had to pick up the slack on offense and Jack did a great job. He's a captain and he acted like one and that's what a leader does.

Mount Mansfield is 4-2 overall and 3-1 in Division IV. The Eagles are 1-5 and 1-4.
